The Pubescent Oak’s natural habitat is the South of France, although it also grows, albeit more rarely, in the North. Oaks grow into airy forests with grassy underbrush. The edible underground parasite mushroom called “truffle” grows best on the roots of this variety of oak. It is used in many gourmet preparations. Its wood is difficult to craft. As fire wood, it produces quality charcoal.

Sehr verbreitet im Süden Frankreichs, seltener im Norden. Sie bildet lichte Wälder mit grasbewachsenen Böden. An dieser Eichenart gibt es die meisten Trüffeln. Ihr Holz lässt sich nur schwer verarbeiten. Es dient vor allem als Brennholz und zur Herstellung hochwertiger Holzkohle.

Il est très abondant au sud de la France et plus rare au nord. Il forme des bois clairs au sol herbu. C'est le plus productif des chênes truffiers. Son bois est difficile à travailler. C'est surtout un combustible qui produit un charbon de bois de qualité.
