The caterpillar lives on the shoots of elderly small-leaved Lime and develops in the spring. The adult of the species is on the wing in September and October. It flies everywhere in Europe without however being terribly common.
It can be spotted at the "Mares aux Couleuvreux" (P 631).

Die Raupe wächst im Frühjahr heran und ernährt sich von den jungen Trieben alter Linden. Der erwachsene Schmetterling fliegt im September und Oktober überall in Europa, ohne jedoch sehr häufig zu sein.

Vivant sur les rejets des Tilleuls âgés, la chenille grandit au printemps. L'adulte vole en septembre et octobre, partout en Europe, sans pour cela être commun.
